Tribunj
This fishing village started its existence on an island near Vodice in the 15th century. Since then, it has been connected to the mainland via a stone bridge, making Tribunj today a peninsula. Today, stone fortresses are visible in the village, which were built during the time of the Venetian government, and the most important buildings are the church of St. Nicholas and the fortress of Jurjevgrad from the 17th century. There is a wonderful view in front of the church, where you can enjoy looking at the unbelievably blue sea and the nature which surrounds Tribunj. Its inhabitants today engage in olive growing and fishing, which is an excellent combination for good gastronomy. Accommodation is possible in private houses, apartments and auto-camps. The modern Tribunj marina has moorings for up to three hundred boats. The beaches are organised for all generations, and offer a wide range of additional forms of entertainment. The sea is also extremely clean. Its inhabitants keep to their traditions, and in the summer they hold traditional donkey races and fishing festivals.
